Bill Throndset
Bill Throndset is a biotechnology leader and novelist whose fiction explores the uneasy border between ambition and conscience.
With a background in biotechnology and industrial research leadership, he brings a scientist's eye for systems, consequences, and unintended effects to his fiction. His work ranges from historical crime rooted in the pioneer communities of the northern plains to speculative thrillers about artificial intelligence, vaccines, memory, and moral control.
He earned a BA in Biology from Lehman College in 1993 and a PhD from the University of Manchester Faculty of Life Sciences in 2010, and has spent more than twenty-five years working in biotechnology. A Murder for Christmas grew from a real North Dakota murder case he first discovered as a boy more than thirty years ago, a buried local history that stayed with him for decades before becoming a novel.
His novels are driven by the same question in different forms: what happens when people convince themselves that the truth is less important than the outcome they want?
Bill lives in Virginia with his family.
